With a such a rich history and motorsport lineage that Ferrari has, it should come as no surprise that Ferrari tries to make each of their cars connect with their motorsport heritage. Intoxicating exhaust notes that are full of passion, performance that makes your mind tingle and body shake from excitement, and body lines that look as though they are sculpted through divine intervention. All things make a Ferrari a Ferrari, and with the incoming of their new 2-seater sports car, they wanted nothing left to chance. With the Ferrari 458 on the way out, the new car needed to be faster, more exotic, better handling, all while being a fantastic road car. Ferrari delivered, bringing their newest road car to the forefront: The 488.
Turbocharging became the 488’s secret under the hood, lending some boost pressure in exchange for some seriously upgraded performance. 661 horsepower and 560lb/ft of torque, giving the 488 a generous 99 more horsepower and 162lb/ft of torque over the outgoing 458. This is good for a 3.0-second 0-60 sprint, with torque available throughout the power band for better driving overall. Better interior equipment and surfaces, better handling and a sublime ride all yield a better driver’s experience that is equally at home on the street and on the track. The Spider offers the best of both worlds, with the looks of a hardtop coupe but at a moment’s notice drop the top to soak in all the sunshine you could possibly enjoy, while getting an earful of that Italian twin-turbocharged V8 engine behind you.
This 2018 Ferrari 488 Spider was spec’d in the fantastic combination of Blu Abu Dhabi metallic over a Nero (black) leather interior by its first and only owner. Heavily optioned from the Ferrari factory (options listed above), this 488 has a total of $89,319 worth of specially-chosen options added to the already long list of standard equipment including magnetic suspension damping, carbon ceramic brakes, limited slip differential, and 7-year genuine Ferrari maintenance that provides complimentary scheduled maintenance visits at any Ferrari dealer. When the Ferrari was delivered, the MSRP for the Spider was $373,969.00. The black Daytona-style seats have custom dark blue stitching, as well as the throughout the rest of the car. The extensive exterior carbon package, a $30,000+ single option, gives this Ferrari a unique and special look alongside the Blu Abu Dhabi paint.
After picking up the Ferrari its owner had the car completely wrapped in paint protection film. Every surface is now protected against the elements and rock chips, allowing you to enjoy the car fully without having to worry about the beautiful blue paint work being affected. He drove the car sparingly after that, covering only 1,390 miles since he purchased the car. Taken care of in exceptional fashion, the car presents in like-new condition and is striking at no matter what angle you look at it from.
Now available at Canepa, this stunning Ferrari 488 Spider in Blu Abu Dhabi metallic over black leather is ready to cruise the boulevard with the top down, or reward its new owner during spirited driving and reveal what the Cavallino badge is all about.
