Unveiled in 2015, the Cayman GT4 Clubsport was Porsche's latest creation for those looking for an incredibly capable track weapon. Based on the successful 981 Cayman GT4 platform, the Clubsports share the same 3.8 liter flat six engines capable of 385 horsepower but are gifted with a modified 6-speed PDK dual clutch transmission. With a welded-in roll cage, parts shared from the 911 GT3 Cup cars and weighing in just around 2,870 pounds, these Porsches are made to be no-nonsense turn-key race cars for those looking for a factory prepared track car.

Purchased by HMC Racing of Manitowoc, Wisconsin in 2016, the car was sold by Porsche Motorsports of North America and delivered with its exterior and interior both painted white. Standard options included a 70 liter FT3 fuel cell and a central fire extinguisher. With a base price of $165,000, over $20,000 worth of options were added including air conditioning, an air jack system, a Recaro race bucket seat, and the spare parts package. HMC Racing would never race, track or even drive the car, with only delivery miles put on the odometer.

In May of 2016, the most recent owner would acquire the GT4 Clubsport and become the second owner. He would have the car maintained and prepped at BR Racing in Los Gatos, California for the entirety of his ownership. Immediately at BR Racing Motec data logging was added to the car, along with a radio communications system, a multi-button steering wheel panel, a SmartyCam HD video system, a full green metallic custom wrap to protect the paint, and a host of other options to prepare the car for its first track day. Promptly after the car's first time around a track, BR Racing went to work to add additional items to the build. Porsche Motorsport sells Manthey Racing equipment and suspension for the GT4 Clubsport, with owners able to upgrade parts of their cars as they see fit. Manthey Racing also supplies the necessary upgrades for the GT4's homologation in the GT4 racing class. In July of 2017 new Manthey Racing suspension was installed by BR Racing, consisting of racing 3-way adjustable coil over suspension, to the tune of a little more than $12,000. The owner also had a quick-release steering wheel installed to get in and out more easily, and an OMP Passenger seat installed. In all, the owner invested over $42,000 in upgrades over the course of 2 years of ownership creating a more usable track weapon.

Upon arriving at Canepa, the GT4 was inspected from front to back. Showing only 928 miles since it was delivered from PMNA, the car presents in excellent condition. The original white paint is preserved underneath the green metallic custom wrap, and the car is now outfitted with most of the conceivable upgrades to be able to spend more time in the car at the track. With the Cayman GT4 street car now out of production, this GT4 Clubsport is the last model of the 3.8 liter-powered GT4s. With an impressive amount of power, an excellent chassis and long list of upgrades, this Cayman GT4 Clubsport is likely one of the most driver-friendly GT4 Clubsports to be hitting apexes at track days.
