The Hummer H1 was introduced to the civilian market in 1992. Arnold Schwarzeneggar began a national petition for a street-legal version after watching what the Hummer was capable of in Iraq. This comes to no surprise as anyone would be shocked in awe by a vehicle that could climb over 22-inch obstacles, conquer steep grades (up to 60%), and pass through waters as deep at 30”.
This 2006 Hummer H1 Alpha is an open-top model finished in Metallic Pewter with black bumpers and a matching removable soft top over a black leather interior. Its power comes from a 6.6-liter Duramax turbodiesel V8 (300hp & 520lb-ft of torque) paired with an Allison five-speed automatic transmission and a dual-range transfer case. With 2006 being the final year of production, only 729 examples were produced. This example features a front winch, a front brush guard, LED fog lights, a sliding and locking bed cover, a receiver hitch-mounted rear step, and a CB radio with a fold-away antenna.
All four corners of the vehicle are outfitted with portal axles, inboard brake disks, and manually adjustable shocks. This Hummer has two-piece forged 17-inch wheels that use dual bead locks with 38x14.5′′ Goodyear Wrangler MT/R tires. The Central Tire Inflation System (CTIS) enables pressure adjustments for the front, back, or all four wheels even while the vehicle is in motion.
The cabin features black leather seats with grey piping with Alpha embroidery in the backrests along with a gray dashboard and silver trim. Amenities include heated front seats, power accessories, an Alpine stereo with navigation, and ceiling-mounted speakers. The rear area features separate audio controls with dual headphone jacks, and an upper rear bench seat has been installed.
This truck was first registered in Pennsylvania and was then acquired in November 2019 by its most recent owner who is a very prominent West Coast automotive enthusiast.
