What it turned into can simply be called a work of art. From its hand made steel body lines, 4 piece hood and vee'd windshield posts to its one-off maple body, Roush engine and many one-off parts this unique custom is a sight to behold. A true study in contrasts metal and wood meld beautifully as the deep black paint sets off the stunning light woodwork. All of this stellar craftsmanship is highlighted by a multitude of polished and chromed metal surfaces.
Of course hot rods are about show AND go, and when you jam your foot down on the loud pedal the Woodie Coupe will not disappoint. At the other end of the accelerator linkage lurks a 500HP, 500 ft-lbs, 402 cubic inch Roush V8. The 402IR engine is the ultimate Ford-based fuel injected stroker with Weber-style 8-Stack fuel injection and forged crank, rods, and pistons.
All of this power is connected to a bulletproof Ford AOD 4-speed automatic transmission running to a gorgeous, polished Winters quick change rear end. At the corners are Halibrand wheels with Wilwood disc brakes hiding behind. In fact, if you could crawl underneath this amazing car you would find all of the underside components polished and plated within an inch of their lives.
The attention to detail is evident everywhere on this custom rod. One off parts abound from front to rear. In the rear is a hidden AM/FM/CD sound system with amplifier. The dash is kept simple and functional. Power window switches are kept hidden and out of the way. The list goes on an on.
