Canepa is looking for an entry level Upholstery Apprentice. Great opportunity to join a team of craftsmen of the highest level restoring, customizing, and building world-class collectable automobiles at our state-of-the-art facility in Scotts Valley, California.

Candidates must have experience in upholstery work with a keen attention to detail and accuracy. Your skills must be top notch and produce extremely high-quality results. We need someone who takes direction and completes the job with limited supervision. This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for someone who is dedicated to producing work that will add and sustain value for generations to come!

Job Duties Include:

  • All aspects of interior or upholstery restoration, replacement, and repair; from floor to roof, seats, trim and lining
  • Highly customized installations and precision vintage restoration
  • Convertible soft top installation
  • Versatility in working with a wide variety of premium quality upholstery materials
  • Extensive use of sewing machines and application of various techniques
  • Hand-crafted upholstery work required
  • Use of tools and equipment; including drills

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have some formal education or training in upholstery work, automotive
    preferred
  • Knowledge of materials (leathers, fabrics, carpets, padding, threads, headliners,
    convertible tops, and backing materials, etc.)
  • Understanding of each material’s suitability for the given application
  • Knowledge of upholstery machinery and equipment
  • Ability to produce Concourse quality upholstery work

Preferred Skills but not required:

  • Knowledge of vintage upholstery production techniques and materials to produce period
    correct reproductions
  • Experience with a wide variety of marques; German, Italian and American

 

Job Type: Full-time
This is an hourly, non-exempt, in-house position.
Compensation: $20/hr BOE

Canepa is looking for an Automotive Marketing Director and Historian to join our team! This individual must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a background in collector car industry.

The ideal candidate will be quality minded, hardworking, and dedicated to providing the highest level of service in the industry. We are seeking a person who is highly professional, who can work individually, as well as part of a multifunctional team.

Job Duties Include:

  • Planning, development and implementation of all the Organization’s marketing strategies, marketing communication, and public relations activities, both external and internal
  • Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and distribution
  • Act as the Organization’s representative with the public
  • Coordinate the appearance of all print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, etc.
  • Schedule and lead group tours
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills
  • Overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications
  • Working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams
  • Managing multiple projects at a time

Candidate must have:

  • HISTORIC, COLLECTOR AND EXOTIC CAR EXPERIENCE A MUST
  • Minimum 5 years experience in marketing, communications or public relations
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, public relations preferred
  • Experience developing and managing budgets for department
  • Computer literacy in word processing, data base management and page layout
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Motivated and fast paced personality with serious work ethic
  • Strong management experience
