The original Aston Martin DBS was a grand tourer that was produced between 1967 to 1972. This car was produced as the successor of the DB6 that was terminated shortly after. With a limited production of just 787 units, this DBS was an instant classic and carries its legacy decades later with its new version.
The DBS name was heralded again by Aston Martin. With the unveiling of the new DBS at the 2007 Pebble Beach Concours D’elegance. This incredible coupe design by Aston Martin features the classic and sporting look of an Aston, with immense and smooth performance delivered by its roaring V12 engine. In response to overwhelming interest, Aston decided to build a convertible version, the DBS Volante. In 2009 at the Geneva Motor Show, the DBS Volante was unveiled, and praised by journalist in the auto industry. Aston Martin’s Chief Executive Officer said, “The DBS Volante offers a mix of luxury and performance. Including the finest craftsmanship – and providing an unparalleled ownership and driving experience.”
This DBS Volante is powered by a ground-pounding 5.9-liter normally aspirated V12. 0-60 comes in 4.3 seconds, and the top speed is north of 190 mph. Equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, this DBS Volante is the perfect combination for a sporty and comfortable ride with power of a V12 on tap.
The first and only owner of the DBS Volante ordered the car through Aston Martin of Long Island. Ordered with Orient Blue paint for the exterior and ascot brown leather interior with blue stitching, this DBS Volante stands out from the others. The luxurious leather interior offers carbonfiber accents, and Bang & Olufsen’s BeoSound DBS audio system. This includes 13 individual speakers and Bang & Olufsen’s unique Digital Signal Processing system. The BeoSound DBS has been specifically revised for the DBS Volante and senses when the roof is up or retracted and adjusts the sound stage to compensate for wind noise and change in acoustics. The DBS Volante also comes equipped with a front lower carbonfiber spoiler, as well as rear carbonfiber diffuser. The DBS Volante also comes with carbon ceramic brakes.
Upon arriving at Canepa the V12 DBS Volante was subjected to a comprehensive inspection within our Service department and found to be in exceptional condition throughout. To be sold with a pre-delivery Service, full concourse-show-level “Canepa Difference” Detail, Owners Manuals, car cover and service records. The DBS Volante is a car for those that long for an authentic analog driving experience, with the top down, and match revving this naturally aspirated V12 through its 6-speed manual transmission.
